Bell County Burn Ban Goes Into Effect Wednesday

If you live in Bell County and planned on lighting a bonfire this weekend, we've got bad news.

The Bell County Commissioner Court voted 5 to 0 Monday to issue a burn ban beginning at 10 AM on Wednesday, July 20, and ending at 10 AM on Monday, August 15.

In a press statement, the Court said it had determined that present circumstances in Bell County pose a public safety hazard that would be exacerbated by outdoor burning.

The ban could be lifted prior to August 15 if conditions improve.
