Belton Police Need Volunteers to Host National Night Out Parties
It’s almost time for National Night Out, and the Belton Police Department is looking for citizens interested in hosting a block party in their neighborhood.
Hosting an NNO party is a great way to meet neighbors, strengthen community ties with the police, and let criminals know that you and your neighbors are looking out for each other. Volunteers will receive supplies and assistance from the department to make hosting an easy and fun experience.
Anyone interested in hosting a party can register online by clicking here or pick up an application at the front desk of the department at 711 East 2nd St. The deadline to register is September 15, and anyone with questions can call Sgt. Doug Taylor at 254-933-5840.
This year’s National Night Out will be Tuesday, October 6. More than 15,000 communities in all 50 states are expected to participate.
