Big Boi continues to expand his acting portfolio. The OutKast member recently landed a role as Motown Records founder Berry Gordy in an upcoming biopic about singer Bobby DeBarge.

Big shared the news via Instagram on Friday (Feb. 22). He did so by posting a photo of his actor's chair from the set of the film, which has the rapper and Gordy's name printed on it. He captioned the photo, "Just finished playing Berry Gordy in the 'Debarge' movie @swirlfilmsig coming Soon!"

Titled The Bobby DeBarge Story, the film is being produced by TV One and will be released in June. The story revolves around Bobby DeBarge, a singer in the 1970s R&B act Switch and later the family band DeBarge. Both acts were signed to Gordy, with Switch falling under Motown and DeBarge being in a deal with Gordy Records.

Big Boi is no stranger to the camera. He's played in the films ATL, Idlewild, Who's Your Caddy, Superfly and more.

Fans are still waiting patiently on an OutKast biopic. Back in 2015, following the record-breaking release of Straight Outta Compton, Big revealed he and Andre 3000 had discussed making a film about the group.

"Me and Dre were just discussing this over Labor Day. Stay tuned," he posted on an Ask Me Anything session on Reddit in response to a fan asking if a 'Kast biopic was in the future.
