Bill Maher Said the N-Word on ‘Real Time’ and Twitter Is Not Having It [VIDEO]
If you know anything about Bill Maher he’s a habitual line-stepper when it comes to his political rhetoric. On Friday’s episode (June 2) of Real Time With Bill Maher, the talk show host crossed the line and said the N-word during his interview with Nebraska Senator Ben Sasse.
In the video above, Maher said to the Republican Senator that he needs to go to Nebraska to which Sasse responded, “we’d love to have you work in the fields with us.” And then Maher responded with: “Work in the fields...Senator, I’m a house n----."
Now while some might argue that Maher used the racial slur as a joke, the reality of it is, he shouldn't have said the word at all. The other shocking part in the video is that the audience applauded Maher after he said the racial slur. Now that should tell you something about his audience.
People on Twitter are calling for HBO to fire Bill Maher while others are gloriously slandering the political firebrand on their timelines.
Even Chance the Rapper wants Bill Maher kicked off HBO.
"But really, [Bill Maher] has got to go. There are no explanations that make this acceptable," tweeted Deray Mckesson. Journalist Wajahat Ali wrote, "People shocked at Bill Maher being racist-y, check w your Arab & Muslim friends. Been doing this for a LONG time, but he got hall passes."
This might not end well for certain folks. Peep the reactions below.
