Billy Ray Cyrus has dedicated his first-ever BET Hip Hop Award to the late Nipsey Hussle.

In a tweet he posted on Tuesday night (Oct. 8), the country music veteran took home the award for Best Collaboration for his work on the "Old Town Road (Remix)" alongside Lil Nas X. After receiving the news, Billy Ray hit up his 1.6 million Twitter followers to give thanks and dedicate the win to the "Hussle & Motivate" rapper.

"Thank you @BET @HipHopAwards for Best Collab win," Billy Ray Cyrus wrote. "You kept #OTR at No. 1 for 19 weeks. More importantly, you made me feel welcomed into your home & world. Dedicating this win to Mr. @NipseyHussle - a legend gone way too soon."

Nipsey was also nominated for the same award for his collaboration "Higher" with DJ Khaled and John Legend as well as Impact Track and Lyricist of the Year. Billy Ray's dedication was more than thoughtful. The spirit Victory Lap rapper was definitely in the building after he was posthumously awarded the MVP of the Year trophy.

In other Nipsey news, a biography of the late rapper, who was shot and killed in front of his clothing store The Marathon, is set to drop in 2020.
