From Lil Bow Wow to Bow Wow and next, Shad Moss. The rapper and '106 & Park' host is officially changing his name to his government moniker after the 2014 BET Awards.

Bow took to Instagram to explain the reason behind the change. The entertainer is making a career evolution. "No more Bow Wow after June 29, man. Shad Moss is what it is. New era, new money. Let's go," he says in the 15-second video.

"ANNOUNCEMENT: After BET awards i will no longer go by Bow Wow! Im going by my real name "Shad Moss" we made alot of history as bow wow. Now its time for the next chapter and challenge. Bow wow does not fit who i am today. Ima father, business man, TV host, Actor, and rapper! Time for MR Moss to take over!" the rhymer wrote as the caption to the accompanying visual.

Back in 2002, the multi-hyphenate dropped "Lil'" from his stage name. He told MTV then, “I changed my name because I’m getting older now and it’s too many Lil’s. All these Lil’ rappers, I’m just kind of getting real irritated by it. I said, ‘You know what? Drop the Lil’. Forget it. I’m Bow Wow.’ Besides, I’m growing up, I’m not little anymore. [I just decided] two weeks ago. I really got irritable. It’s all these Lil’ cats, forget it. I’m Bow Wow now. Everything is just ‘Bow Wow,’ no ‘Lil’ Bow Wow.’"

In the coming days, he'll be releasing a new song, 'Right Now' featuring K Camp.
