With news like this, it's no wonder people are moving to the great State of Texas!

Home is Where the Heart Is

Truth be told, I'm rather fond of where I live here in Texas. The Temple/Belton/Killeen area has become home for me and my family. Is it perfect? No, but not much in life is.

The weather is to my liking, and the cost of living here in Central Texas is better than most places. Plus, being halfway between Dallas and Austin, and only three or so hours away from San Antonio and Houston, I can hit some of the big city events in no time. I feel like I have found the "Best City in the U.S. to Live In". At least for me, anyway.

The Woodlands, Texas

This Houston area city ranked very well in several key areas including schools, crime rate and cost of living.

The Woodlands not only finished at #1 for Best Cities to live in the U.S., but also #2 in Best Cities to Buy a House and #2 in Best Cities to Raise a Family in the U.S. It also has lots of entertainment options and plenty of indoor and outdoor activities for the kids and adults alike.

There's a lot to love about the city for sure, but I prefer living on a smaller scale. Central Texas feels like a good place to be. As they say, "Home is where the heart is" so here is where I'll stay.

Bet You Didn't Know: 10 Bizarre Texas Laws Still on the Books

Many states still have strange laws on the books that aren’t enforced or taken seriously anymore, and Texas is no exception.

Most of these laws are just funny now, but at one time, there was a valid (or at least somewhat valid) reason for them to exist.

Texas has plenty of strange rules and regulations that you could technically be prosecuted for if you violate them, since they've never been amended. Some of these are only for specific cities and not state-wide, but all of them are pretty odd!

Let's take a look at 10 of the weirdest ones in the Lone Star State.
