Cardi B to Perform on ‘Saturday Night Live’
If you thought Cardi B's run would end in 2017, you were wrong. The Bronx rapper continues to be one of the hottest in the streets, and as proof she's recently been announced as the musical guest on an April episode of Saturday Night Live.
Early Sunday morning (March 18), the "Bodak Yellow" rapper let the cat out of the bag via an Instagram post, which also reveals Black Panther star Chadwick Boseman will be the special guest on the episode. "APRIL 7th SATURDAY NIGHT LIFE!!! Who finna not go to the club to watch Bardi on tv?!" she captioned the post.
Cardi's appearance on the long-running NBC show will occur near the time she plans to drop her debut album. During her acceptance speech for Best New Artist at the 2018 iHeartRadio Music Awards last week, Bardi divulged her plans for an April release. "My album will be coming in April, OKurrr," she told the crowd. "Yessir. April. Stay tuned, muthaf... ow!"
This will be Cardi's first actual appearance on SNL, but her presence has been felt on the show before. Back in November, comedian Tiffany Haddish parodied the rapper during her appearance on the show in a skit where the Cardi impersonator and a faux Offset attempt to try out for the live-action remake of The Lion King.
