
Massive Deadly Accident Now Has Texas Interstate 35 Closed
Hewitt, Texas has been dealing with an entire section of Interstate 35 being shut down northbound due to a tragic accident that involved several passenger vehicles and multiple 18 wheelers. According to this KCEN article, at least one person has passed away, and several others needed to be transported to nearby Baylor, Scott and White medical facilities.

Mitch and I spent the bulk of the morning show updating the road conditions from just after 6 this morning, and according to the Texas Department of Public Safety, you should expect the accident sight to continue to be under investigation and clean up until after sunset tonight.
Massive Deadly Accident Now Has Texas Interstate 35 Closed
Next of kin have been notified that 39 year old Jennifer James of Lorena passed away in this accident that happened around mile marker 328 just north of the Moonlight Drive exit. Based on the information provided, it is believed a semi failed to decrease speed in time as it approached a slow pocket of traffic, and rear ended several vehicles.

In total 9 vehicles, including 3 semi rigs, were involved in the pile up, that resulted in one of the 18 wheelers becoming fully engulfed in flames. With the size, damage caused, and full investigation that is required for a fatality accident of this nature, estimates to reopen that section of highway are anticipated to be after 6 PM.
