Desiigner Ordered to Pay $136,000 in Defamation Lawsuit: Report

A judge has ordered Desiigner to pay up for a 2018 defamation lawsuit filed by a woman that alleges he defamed her name and invaded her privacy with an Instagram post.

According to a report published by TMZ on Thursday (Jan. 31), Desiigner must pay Jessica Brown $135,777.11 for the case. They also note that this decision is a default judgment, as the "Panda" rapper never contested in court. The judge reportedly took Brown's side in the matter because Desiigner didn't contest.

As previously reported, Desiigner called Brown out on Instagram in late 2017, feeling that she scammed his younger sister through her company, College Gurl.

"THIS GIRL IS A FRAUD," Desiigner wrote in the since-deleted post. "TRIED TO SCAM ME INTO PAYING FOR MY SISTER TO GET INTO HOWARD UNIVERSITY AND NOW SHE IS TRYING TO HOLD MY SISTERS BELONGINGS. PLEASE STAY AWAY FROM HER AND HER COLLEGE SCAMS!! WARNING STAY FROM THE SCAMMERS @ddaddys_girl202 @colleegegurljb."

In her suit, Brown explained that her company, College Gurl, educates young people on how to pay for college. She says the company actually helped his sister Siera Shelby get into Howard University and that they also helped her obtain a storage unit while she was there.

According to Brown, Shelby later left Howard and left her belongings in the storage unit. Brown reportedly tried to return the items but said Shelby didn't want them. The Instagram post from Desiigner came shortly after.

The rapper, who released his Life of Desiigner EP in 2018, has not publicly addressed the judgment. XXL has reached out to Desiigner's camp for comment.
