Don’t Forget, City of Temple Reminds You That Fireworks Are Not Allowed
Temple, Texas would like to remind you that fireworks are illegal in the city limits.
Are Firework Legal or Illegal?
The Killeen Daily Herald reports that fireworks are legal in Bell County, but illegal inside the city limits, meaning you can not sell, possess, or set off fireworks in the city limits.
Happy New Year!
As tempting as it is to celebrate the new year by blowing up hundreds of dollars of fireworks, it is illegal to do so in the city limits of Temple and its surrounding neighborhoods.
Show Some Restraint
Fireworks are fun, but not everyone gets the same enjoyment out of them as others do. KCEN reports that, according to the City of Temple, fireworks can aggravate those with PTSD, particularly for veterans and first responders.
It's well documented that fireworks can have a negative effect on your pets too.
According to The Humane Society, booming sounds and flashing lights can cause panic in your pet and leave them terrified. The 4th of July and New Year's Eve are two of the busiest days of the year for lost dogs and other household pets.
The Temple Animal Shelter suggests that keeping pets indoor on New Year's Eve can help prevent them from panicking and running off.
Don't Drink and Drive
New Year's Eve is one of the most dangerous holidays of the year. According to AAA and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, arrests and drunk driving accidents skyrocket on from Christmas Day to New Year's Day. Always have a designated driver.
