UFC 265

The time has come for another amazing night of watching some of the world's best athletes step into the octagon going toe to toe. The Next UFC event will be held at the Toyota Center in Houston, Texas on Saturday, with the main card starting at 9pm CDT. Early prelims are scheduled to start at 5pm CDT, and prelims start at 7pm CDT.

The Card

The card looks pretty good for Saturday night, including names like Jose Aldo, Michael Chiesa, Ciryl Gane, and fan favorite Derrick Lewis. The latter two fighters will be battling it out for the main event. Lewis and Gane will be fighting for the Interm Heavyweight Championship belt, with Gane being the heavy favorite going into the night.

Hometown Return

Lewis is one of the more popular fighters in today's UFC scene with his candid moments on the microphone, so he gets plenty of love. He'll be getting some extra love on Saturday as he returns to his hometown to fight for the title. The Houston native looks to move up to challenge Francis Ngannou for the undisputed belt. Lewis is one of only two men to have defeated Ngannou in the UFC.

Late Change

The card was originally set to feature dual champion Amanda Nunes, as she was scheduled to defend her title against Julianna Pena. The women's champion had to pull out of the co-main event due to COVID issues involving her family. Pena seemed pretty upset about the situation and eager to get answers on when she will get her shot. The two fighters had a friendly exchange on Twitter following the cancelation.
