KWTX reported that drivers commuting on Highway 84 early Friday morning may have had to deal with some lengthy delays due to power lines coming down on the highway.

The downed power lines caused for the highway to close at midnight on Friday, and some drivers were delayed as long as two hours while crews worked to clear the power lines.

The highway opened all of its lanes back for full service around 6:30 a.m.. During the road work, officials were asking motorists to take Old Lorena Road to Chapel Road in the eastbound direction of Highway 84. Motorists in the westbound direction were asked to commute on Estates Drive to Chapel Road.
