Facebook just added a new feature to the site only this time it's for kids.

Yesterday, Facebook announced a new edition of the messenger app, but here's the kicker; its only intended for kids between the ages of six and 12.

According to sources, the new app, Messenger Kids, will allow children the opportunity to stay connected with family members by using age-appropriate GIF's, stickers, frames, and content.

The app does not require an account for use. However, parents will be able to monitor the app and contact list from their own Facebook account. Outsiders must create Messenger Kids accounts and get approved from the parents account to speak with to the children.

Facebook is encouraging parents to use the app to easily control what children are doing online.
