Welcome to fall in Texas! I know it still feels a lot like summer right now, but at least we're getting cooler mornings before the afternoon heat hits us. The good news? Eventually, the temperatures will drop, and that means the weather will be perfect for camping.
It may take till mid-November before we reach peak fall foliage in Central Texas, but right now is the best time to make those camping reservations.
Camping in Texas
Let's face it, unless your tent comes with some air conditioning, camping in Texas during the summer can be miserable. That doesn't stop people from planning trips, but fall really is the best time to get outdoors and enjoy some fresh air and cooler temps.
With peak fall foliage coming in mid November, getting your reservations in as early as possible can help you be able to pitch a tent in your favorite location.

Hopefully, Mother Nature will get in line soon so real fall temps and colors can arrive. Late October to mid-November should be peak time for the best experience, so if you plan to camp while the colors are changing, make those reservations as soon as possible.
