How You Can Help Local Pets In Need
If you are looking to either adopt or support local animals in need, I recommend working with Texas Humane Heroes.
Texas Humane Heroes is a no-kill, private, non-profit dog and cat adoption organization. They’ve been a Central Texas staple for forty years now, with locations in both Killeen and Leander.
I’ve had the pleasure of attending/working their annual fundraiser for the last two years. I can tell you the fine folks who run the non-profit are as good as the cause they support.

My campaign for the Texas Humane Heroes. Adopt a DOG or a CAT from T.H.H (I came up with that acronym all by myself). This lil pub is still looking for a home. I named him Chihuahua, but you can name him whatever you want, like pickle! I considered doing the video with both a DOG and a CAT, but I came to the conclusion that it would be far too cute. Chihuahua and I max out the cuteness meter. If Boot Scoot the tabby cat was involved it would be hazardous to ones health. At T.H.H they have DOGS, CATS, PUPPIES, and KITTENS, the options are endless. I'm Haven Medrano and I approve this message. #imcute #bootscootboogie #puppy #kittens #dog #cat #adopt #killeen #pup
So, let’s get down to what you can do.
If you’d like to adopt here’s the find a pet page.
Donations are always accepted click here to make a donation. I’m told donations save lives.
Volunteering is an extremely underrated thing to do. You’re helping a good cause, meeting new people, getting out of the house, and get that good old fashioned warm feeling. Here is the link to sign up.
I also recommended just going to your local shelter to find a four-legged friend, but again the people behind Texas Humane Heroes are second to none and good people always deserve support.
