Hurricane Harvey Victims Are Being Targeted By A Scam

These last few days have been very trying times for those affected by the recent storm. The non-stop rain and flooded streets has caused many families to lose shelter and possibly everything that they own.

With such a tragedy going on you would think that scamming would be at an all time low.

According to the Houston Chronicle victims of Hurricane Harvey are the target of a social media scam!

People are forwarding a message that says "The National Guard is being deployed to our Texas area. If you find yourself in a state of emergency. Call 1-800-527-3907. Please copy, paste or share!!"

The number actually leads to an out of state insurance company!!

Please do NOT share the message..encourage victims to call 911.
