I-35 Mainlane Closure in Belton (Bell County) on Thursday Night

From the Texas Department of Transportation:

On Thursday, August 15, starting at 7:00 pm, all southbound lanes on I-35 near US 190 in Belton will be closed.

Southbound traffic will detour off the freeway at Exit ‪#‎293B‬ (FM 436/Main St.) to the frontage road and re-enter the freeway north of Loop 121. The southbound on-ramp at East Central Avenue will also be closed. As a result of these closures, the ramp from I-35 to East US 190 will be closed. Signs along the detour route will instruct drivers as to the correct directions to follow to get where they need to be.

FM 436 will also be closed to traffic crossing over I-35. Drivers will be rerouted to Loop 121 to the south and East Central Avenue to the north.

These closures are necessary to allow the contractor to set concrete traffic barrier in preparation for constructing the new off-ramp for Loop 121. The freeway lanes will be reopened by 7:00 am Friday morning.

If you are traveling south in Bell County tonight, avoid the area if possible and seek alternate routes.
