Food Truck Heist at Texas Panhandle War Memorial Leaves Behind Trail of Damage
For the most part, Amarillo is a great city to live, work, and raise a family. However, there are moments when we all wish our city had less criminal activity. Many times criminal activity hurts those who are just trying to work hard and make a living.
In the early morning hours of Friday, October 11th, a food truck was parked at the Texas Panhandle War Memorial at 4111 S. Georgia. It was parked at the war memorial because the plan was to open up and serve brunch starting at 8 am.
This wasn’t unusual for this Amarillo food truck, as they regularly park at the Texas Panhandle War Memorial.
It's a great location, and it offers those visiting the memorial a chance to grab a bite after visiting and honoring those from the Texas Panhandle who have fallen.
However, upon arriving at 4111 S. Georgia on Friday morning to start the day and fire up the grills the owners found that their food truck had been stolen.
According to a post on the Tio Bros Facebook page, the food truck was stolen from the Texas Panhandle War Memorial at 4:43 am on Friday, October 11th. The video surveillance they were able to obtain showed a candy-red truck. The video showed the thief cutting the trailer lock, hooking the food trailer to the red truck, and driving south down Georgia at 4:57 am.
Unfortunately, during the truck heist, the thieves also damaged the electrical systems, irrigation, and landscaping at the memorial.
The owners of Tio Bros are working with those from the Texas Panhandle War Memorial, Amarillo Police Department, and Texas DPS.

My name is Alonzo Garcia. Thank you for reaching out. Our trailer has been found but it isn’t good. We as a team are just trying to move on from this and focus on getting into a new food truck. We want to move forward rebuilding to continue our community and charitable initiatives.
The owners did ask for prayers.
If you know anything or have seen the food truck around the area, you are encouraged to contact the Amarillo Police Department with any information.
The following post includes a photo of the food truck.
Hopefully, the food truck will be returned, but once Tio Bros are back on their feet and operating again, we as a community should come together to support our fellow Amarillo citizens.
