Spectators Gather at Austin House Explosion Site, Angering Residents
A recent house explosion in Austin, Texas has not only brought many questions as to how it happened, but also people to examine what is left after the tragedy. Problem is, onlookers aren't looked upon too kindly by the residents of the neighborhood. Here's what is known at the time of writing.
When Did The House Explosion Occur?
As reported by ABC News, the house explosion occurred on Sunday, April 13th, 2025. The reported time of the house blowing up was 11:23 AM, as stated by the Austin Fire Department. Austin Fire Department Division Chief, Wayne Parrish, said of the initial scene:
"When Austin Fire Department crews arrived on scene they found a two-story home that looked like it had suffered an explosion, which was leveled to the ground...A second house, a neighboring house, had also suffered severe collapse damage."

Thankfully, no deaths were reported, but sadly some were injured, with some of injuries being categorized as critical. But while cleanup begins, some are annoyed with people coming to see the damage.
Who Is Showing Up At The Explosion Site Who Shouldn't Be There?
As reported by KXAN, unknown people have showing up in the area where the incident happened. They haven't been helped clean up, rather they've simply been looked at what happened to the home in question. This has angered some in the neighborhood, who'd rather have them assist in cleanup.
But not everybody was there to look, as Silas Fletcher and his mother told KXAN while helping clean up:
“Well I think it’s important because if you’re going to come look you should at least help out, so you’re not just staring and not doing anything to help”
At the time of writing, the explosion cause is unknown.
