Parents Demand Answers After Killeen Daycare Co-Owner Arrested on Child Pornography Charges

Over the last couple of days, the city of Killeen has been in an uproar over Damien Steinrich, co-owner of The Nurturing Nest Childcare. But this is not just any daycare. The Nurturing Nest is located at 1535 W. Stan Schlueter Loop, and he is not at work right now. He is being held on a $150,000 bond following a child pornography investigation that took place in Temple, according to KCENTV. I explained earlier that this would be an ongoing investigation by police, and now the parents are speaking out, according to KCEN.

Besides the fact that this is a complete shock, individuals are saying their initial reactions were shock and disgust. By all means, I feel like every parent should feel exactly like that. I hate that anybody would have to go through something like this when it involves their children, but anger, disgust, and shock would definitely be the top three things running through my mind. Even though investigators have stated that they haven’t found any connection between the material on his devices and the daycare, or even the youth sports league where he coached, they are still working to identify potential victims.

Will Justice Be Served?

The Temple Police Department made a statement saying that should additional evidence establish a connection, the department will coordinate with the appropriate agencies to ensure affected individuals and families are notified. There was one parent who did not want to be identified. She stated that she had her child attend the daycare from August for two years until August, and other parents have also stopped sending their children there. The parents want questions and answers, and they want them now. We’re all hoping that justice will ultimately be served.
