One-hundred-year-old Tillie Marie, owner of Tillie Marie’s Restaurant, passed away this weekend, and the city remains in shock as this beloved owner has been called home. Here Is What Co-Owner/ Granddaughter Kendra Said As Her Farewell To Tillie Marie

Her granddaughter and co-owner, Kendra Meeks, said, " My grandmother was the heart of our family, a woman of strength, wisdom, and unconditional love. She had a way of making everyone feel seen, welcomed, and cared for. Her kindness touched so many lives. She loved to cook, sew dance, and when it came to dominoes, you did not want to challenge her. Everyone knew Marie/ Muh on social media, from our neighborhood, church, or anywhere else in the community. She had always treated everyone the same with a big smile and an even bigger heart. Meeks also shared in the post that her life will never be the same, adding that Tillie can now rest gracefully. She went on to express how much she loves her forever and a day.

To know this family is to understand that everything they do is not only family-oriented but intentionally done with love. I remember seeing Miss Tillie Marie at her place of business, full of life, a vibrant woman who genuinely loved what she did and always wore a smile.
