Killeen Makes History With Its First-Ever Glow Pickleball Night
A hobby I've recently picked up is pickleball, and let me tell you—it is tons of fun. So, when I heard that the Killeen Parks and Recreation Department would be hosting its first-ever Glow Pickleball event, I knew some real fun was about to take place. The event will be held today, July 8, from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m. at the First National Bank Texas Family Recreation Center, located at 1700 E. Schluter Loop.

What Are the Age Requirements?
This event is open to all ages, and it's by far one of the coolest things I've heard about in a very long time for the city. This is a pickleball experience that I don't think residents have seen before, as the courts will be lit up with vibrant lighting and glowing equipment, creating an electric atmosphere.
Do You Need To Be A Seasoned Player?
It doesn't matter if you're an experienced player or, like me, a first-time player. Either way, Glow Pickleball offers a unique and exciting way to experience one of the nation's fastest-growing sports. Kaitlyn Roberts, recreation manager for the Killeen Parks and Recreation Department, said that Glow Pickleball gives the community a fun and exciting reason to get moving, stay active, and connect with others.
She went on to say that pickleball is easy to learn, welcomes players of all skill levels, and encourages healthy lifestyles through recreation. They hope that the event introduces more people to the sport while creating memorable experiences they'll want to enjoy again. There will also be giveaways while supplies last, and a membership to the First National Bank Texas Family Recreation Center is required to participate.
