The Emotional Story Behind a Killeen Man’s Search for a Second Chance
Killeen has always been about fellowship—coming together as a community and understanding that it’s not just our houses, but our home, and that we’re all family.

It's Time For The City To Come Together
So when I came across the story of a Killeen man by the name of Christopher Leiato, who is in need of a kidney, I knew I had to let the city know exactly what’s going on.
Christopher Leiato is a son, a loving uncle, and a brother who is simply asking the city of Killeen to do what they can with the information about his search for a new kidney. When I spoke with Christopher, he explained that he felt this was the perfect time to make this request, since this month is actually the month we recognize and celebrate kidney transplant awareness.
How Can You Help This Killeen Man?
Christopher has set up a system on social media that shows if you’re interested in possibly being a match for him, you can start the process by scanning the QR code or clicking the link provided to see if you might be the perfect match.
Everyone deserves a second chance at life—and you could help save his. It’s definitely something to consider, Killeen.
Christopher Shared This Message:
“There is light at the end of this journey—don’t get discouraged. You are not alone.”
He Also Wanted To Add:
“I would like to give a special thanks and shout-out to the Baylor Scott & White Temple dialysis nurses and dialysis techs. They keep me encouraged and alive. Thank you for all you do for us dialysis patients.”
