Killeen Invites Residents to Help Shape a Mind-Bending New Tech Experience
The City of Killeen is giving its libraries a makeover, creating an environment where children’s imaginations can come alive through books, their surroundings, and hands-on learning experiences. The Killeen Public Library will be hosting two community town hall meetings to discuss programming and provide an update on the library’s strategic planning.

The City of Killeen says the discussions follow a January 6 directive from the Killeen City Council for staff to develop a coordinated plan of action exploring an Amber Center and children’s museum concept. In my opinion, this is going to be so amazing. I’ve lived in the City of Killeen most of my life, and I remember my father taking me to the library. I could spend hours exploring different things. But even as a kid, you realize that the library is bigger than just books. It allows you to expand your imagination and truly get an idea of something beautiful beyond the world around you.
Don’t Miss Your Chance to Shape the Future of Killeen’s Library System
Reading books can help with mental health, keep you informed about things you need to know, and, most importantly, give children an opportunity to learn and explore. Todd Humble, Killeen Public Library director, stated that they want to hear from residents about what they envision for the future of the library. He goes on to say that resident input will help them explore opportunities to create engaging spaces that spark curiosity and encourage learning.
What Are The Dates For The Meeting?
Residents are encouraged to attend the town hall meetings. The first will take place on October 22 from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the Killeen Main Library, located at 205 E. Church Avenue. The second meeting will take place on October 29 from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the Copper Mountain Branch Library, located at 3000 W. S. Young Drive. The city also states that residents who are unable to attend in person can fill out a survey. The survey will remain open for 30 days beginning October 22.
Libraries play such a fundamental role in our children’s growth, especially here in our community. Let’s make sure our voices are heard for them.
