
Murder Charge Filed in Deadly Killeen Shooting Incident
According to KWTX, Jermaine Justin Attaway, a Killeen, Texas man, has been charged with murder following an incident on April 21. Salathiel Andre Witherspoon Jr., the victim, tragically passed away after suffering gunshot wounds. The event occurred at approximately 7:30 p.m. on April 17, 2025, on the 600 block of Gray Street in downtown Killeen.

Upon arrival, emergency responders began life-saving measures on Witherspoon Jr., who was then transported to Carl R. Darnall Army Medical Center in critical condition. Despite efforts to save him, Justice of the Peace Nicola James pronounced Witherspoon Jr. dead at 8:20 p.m.
Deadly Shooting in Killeen: What Happened on Gray Street?
According to police, the investigation revealed that Witherspoon Jr. had been attending a gathering at the residence of the victim, when he attempted to enter, reportedly by kicking the door, Attaway allegedly fired a weapon through the door, striking Witherspoon Jr.As of now, Attaway is being held in the Bell County Jail without bond.
