Earlier this summer we reported that numerous places were experiencing human cases of West Nile Virus in addition to random testing of mosquitoes shown to be carrying the deadly disease. The summer drought help keep down the mosquito breeding grounds, but the recent rains, and cooler temperatures are proving to be a great environment for mosquitoes to make a late 2023 comeback.

The city of Cedar Park has just released a statement that a trap at Brushy Creek has just had its first positive West Nile test in 5 years.
