Texas, Do You Know What Pink And Purple Mean On Halloween?
Texas, if you've recently felt a chill, it's because the spooky season is in full effect!
Yes, the ghosts and goblins of the state are set to make their return to our streets. Of course they are also very hungry for one thing, and that my fellow Texans, is none other than candy. Yes, the treat part of the famous phrase "trick or treat!" is a favorite of little Texans.
But there are things about the big spooky day that you may not know about. For example, we've discussed what a blue or perhaps teal pumpkin bucket can mean for a young Texas trick or treater. But there's more to the equation than just those two colors.
Have you ever seen pink or pumpkin buckets while out for sweets? Turns out, there's a very specific reason for them appearing.
Pink And Purple Pumpkins In Texas On Halloween
A pink pumpkin on someone's doorstep or placed as a decoration, according to UT Health Houston, has connections to breast cancer awareness. It could mean many things, from an individual at the house currently battling or having battled breast cancer. The person living there could also know someone fighting the diease.
Purple pumpkins, and by relation purple candy buckets, alert those around on the big night that an individual has epilepsy. Purple pumpkins can also be an identifier of someone who knows how to help when somebody has a seizure. This was started by the Purple Pumpkin Project, which you can read more about here.
As always, be safe, and have fun on Halloween Night Texas!
