Police in Temple reported that social media was helping the thefts of the vehicles. Law enforcement provided many tips on keeping their cars safe, but the question remained who exactly was doing this. Further investigations revealed that it was more than one person committing crimes.

Investigations Reveal More Than Meets The Eye

KXXV reveals that police believe children in the Bell County area seem to be committing them:

Sgt. Joe Dimento, who is involved in the Temple Police Department's Property Crimes Division, told KXXV that 20 unknown kids from all over the area of Bell County were doing the crimes in question. But what the main reason for the kids doing this?

Dimento stated that "boredom" is the cause. But the inverse is also true, as he told KXXV that crimes are going down because they're "starting to see a reduction in the overall incidents because they’re just getting bored."

As this is a developing story, we will have more information when it becomes available.
