Austin, Texas was super busy this spring as the state House and Senate were in session across almost five months, and between the two chambers, over 600 bills were sent to Governor Abbott's desk to be signed, vetoed, or tabled. The Texas governor has already signed over 300, and one of the last remaining prospective laws is Senate Bill 3.

Let me just put this up front, I am a fan, advocate, proponent, supporter, and completely on board with medicinal marijuana and/or medical tetrahydrocannabinol, aka THC, products that are properly regulated and prescribed by authorized medical personnel. I also, have no real issue with recreational marijuana, and placing personal responsibility on the consumer with safeguards in place to protect the general public from abuse.

If you read the bill and actually understand what is being proposed, Texas Senate Bill 3 will expand the medical marijuana program to be the largest in the country, and add even more medical conditions that are authorized for medical THC treatment.

What it will also do is completely wipe out any loopholes for low dose THC products that can be purchased over the "smoke shop" counter, and therefore prevent people from self medicating or overdosing.

Take your case to the capitol, and I will gladly stand with you, or assist in calling your rep or senator. Just like the two party system, nothing is perfect when it comes to laws, and no elected official is ever going to fully align with your beliefs 100%.
