Yo Gotti's Brother Big Jook Killed in Memphis
According to a Fox13 Memphis report, published on Saturday (Jan. 13), five sources have confirmed to the news outlet that Yo Gotti's brother, Anthony "Big Jook" Mims, was shot and killed outside a Memphis restaurant on Saturday afternoon.
In a statement to XXL, the Memphis Police Department said:
"At 4:15 p.m., officers were flagged down on a shooting at 6385 Winchester. A male was located on the scene and transported to St. Francis where he was pronounced deceased. A second male arrived at St. Francis by private vehicle. He is listed as critical. The MPD is asking anyone with information to call 901-528-CASH with tips."
XXL has also reached out to Yo Gott's reps for comment.
Fox13 Memphis reports that police believe the two men were targeted in the shooting. Investigators have also obtained surveillance footage of the shooting but haven't been able to identify the suspect.

CMG Artists and Meek Mill Pay Tribute to Big Jook on Social Media
Upon learning of Big Jook's untimely death, Yo Gotti's CMG labelmates GloRilla, EST Gee, Big Boogie and 10Percent paid tribute to him on Instagram. Philadelphia rapper Meek Mill also remembered Jook on his IG page.
GloRilla took to her Instagram Story to share a photo of herself posing with Gotti and Jook at the 65th annual Grammy Awards in February of 2023. The "Tomorrow 2" rhymer captioned the image, "Get Your Rest," and added a disappointed face, broken heart and dove of peace emoji.
Fellow artist Big Boogie posted several photos of Big Jook on his IG Story. But he left a more heartfelt message honoring the late CMG executive, writing, "This has to be a dream, bro. You left us like that. My heart is broken."
Meanwhile, Meek posted on his IG Story a dated photo of Big Jook, Yo Gotti and another man wearing Free Meek Mill T-shirts. "RIP JOOK [crying face emoji]," he captioned the image.
