Jackboy Arrested for Tampering With Evidence, Drug Possession
Florida rapper Jackboy has been arrested.
According to the Broward Sheriff's Office, the rapper, who is signed to Kodak Black's Sniper Gang label, was taken in on Thursday (Aug. 22) for tampering with evidence, possession of weed, violating probation and a few vehicle violations. In response to the arrest, reps for Jackboy used his Instagram to share his side of the story.
"Before The Blogs Give “They Version” For Clout! On His Way To Bring Football Equipment To The Youth Football Team @ Pompano Chief Park, Unforeseen Situations Took Place," the post shared on Friday (Aug. 23) reads. "No, He Did Not Comment A New Crime! And He Says He Greatly Appreciate Each & Every One Of You & Lay Around For New Music Coming Soon. This Won’t Be Long. #NobodySaidBeingASniperWasGonBeEasy #FreeJackboy #FreeYak #LostInMyHead."
Jackboy has been making noise in Florida for years now as he's appeared alongside Kodak on various records. The Pompano Beach, Fla. rapper had been released from jail for an unrelated case in March of this year following a seven-month bid that began just one day after he was released from a one-year bid at Henrico County jail in Virginia. His Virginia sentence was for an unrelated matter.
Jackboy was originally arrested for aggravated battery and robbery with a firearm on Aug. 23, 2017. That's where his probation stems from, and now that he's violated the probation, he could be facing some serious consequences.
XXL has reached out to Jackboy's team for comment.
