We're about a week away from Janelle Monáe releasing her long-awaited album Dirty Computer. The R&B star has released some fantastic videos from the project, including her latest for “PYNK.” But she’s ready to take it to the next level.

Monáe will premiere a 44-minute visual (not a short film) to accompany her upcoming project on both the big screen and small screen.

In conjunction with YouTube, the Grammy-nominated singer will screen The Dirty Computer: Emotion Picture at a select theater in New York on Monday (April 23). A Q&A session with Monáe will follow. Another theatrical premiere will happen in Los Angeles next Friday (April 27) along with a Q&A session.

For those of you who can't make it to the New York or Los Angeles screenings, don't fret. The Dirty Computer: Emotion Picture will also premiere on MTV and BET (and related channels, MTV2 and BET Jams) next Thursday (April 26).

According to a press release, The Dirty Computer: Emotion Picture is a "visually stunning story of a young woman named Jane 57821 (Janelle Monáe), who is living in a totalitarian near-future society where citizens are referred to as 'computers.'" Actress Tessa Thompson co-stars in the visual, which "explores humanity and what truly happens to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness when mind and machines merge, and when the government chooses fear over freedom."

Janelle Monae's album, Dirty Computer, will arrive in digital stores on April 27.
