Killeen’s Own Jershika Maple Has Been Amazing on The Voice

Let’s talk about powerhouses, shall we? Honey, Jershika Maple is not only making the city of Killeen proud - she is making all of America proud!

If you are not familiar with Jershika, she is a contestant on the hit NBC singing competition show The Voice, and is a native of Killeen, Texas.  In the most recent episode, Ms. Jerishika left all of the celebrity judges standing in amazement.

She had to do what was called a showdown performance. Basically, whatever team you’re on (and lady Maple is on the always talented John legend’s team), he had to make a decision between her and a gentleman by the name of Paris Willingham.

As all of America and of course Central Texas were on the edge of their seats to see what the decision would be once all the songs were sung, it was truly exciting to see John Legend choose our very own Jershika!

The performance itself will literally have you in tears! Every high note, every rift, she definitely executed and understood the assignment! Jershika left the audience teary-eyed and inspired, and that’s all we can ask her to do.

The lovely Rose Short left a message on her Facebook saying how proud she was of Jershika, and how she was herself in tears of joy for all that she has accomplished. Rose is definitely a homer, and thinks Jershika will win the whole competition.

To be honest, I also think Jershika can take the win all the way back home to us!

I was absolutely blown away by this young woman's fantastic performance and the responses from the judges. She is amazing, and speaking of amazing, I think all of Central Texas can agree we would love to see a collaboration between Rose and Jershika. Hey, girl can wish, right?
