When someone in Killeen, Texas hears the word "curling", they probably think of hair, not the Olympic sport. Well, that's about to change, because the winter sport is one of the many family friendly activities you'll be able to enjoy at Killeen's Holiday Under the Stars this weekend.

It All Starts Friday With the Killeen Christmas Tree Lighting

At 6PM Friday, December 3, the fun starts with a snow show, caroling, free cocoa and cookies, and free pictures with Santa in Historic Downtown Killeen. (If you're 21 or over, you can also get your hands on a nice, adult beverage to warm your bones.)

Then, at 7PM, Killeen Mayor Jose Segarra and Santa will officially light the city's Christmas tree at the Santa Fe Plaza between 4th and Grey Street. There'll also be a special performance by the Ellison High School Choir.

Holiday Fun Takes Over Downtown Killeen Saturday

Ok, I know wondering when the curling happens. It's scheduled from 3-8 PM in Downtown Killeen, but the fun starts earlier in the day with ice skating, train rides, pony rides, a car show, crafts, games, live music, and food trucks. Santa will be around for free pics.

It'll all be spread across two blocks of Downtown from south of Avenue C to Avenue D, and between 2nd and Grey Street.

Sunday Funday Features S'mores and Santa

Santa will stick around for Sunday's fun as well, and there'll be S'mores from 1-3 PM on Avenue D between 4th and Grey.

Please Don't Park on the Railroad Tracks

The City of Killeen is begging people to use common sense and not park on the railroad tracks. There should be plenty of parking available, and this should be a safe and fun event for every family.
