Today H-E-B announced that their store located at 809 North Gray street in Killeen is closing after over 60 years in business.

KWTX reports the store was built back in 1958 and is closing according to a press release  "due to changing market conditions compounded with the need for extensive facility renovations".

As a courtesy recognizing the inconvenience for the community they have served over 6 decades, H-E-B will be handing out 1,000 bus passes and rolling collapsible carts so you can travel to their other stores.

They will also be hosting a food pantry distribution and free next day delivery.

The other Killeen locations include 2511 Trimmier and 1101 W. Stan Schlueter Loop.

Their last day of business will be October 20th.

This comes just weeks after the IGA Foodliner in Killeen also closed its doors for good. There are concerns from people in the community that the area north of 190 in Killeen is becoming a food wasteland. What do you think?
