Killeen Police Involved in Standoff with Armed Man on Lavender Lane

UPDATE: Police were able to peacefully talk the man out of the house shortly before 1PM. No injuries were reported.

Killeen police and a SWAT team surrounded a home in the 2500 block of Lavender Lane Monday morning after a man barricaded himself inside and threatened suicide.

Our news partner KWTX reports that the man may be a soldier. Police say he is alone in the home.

The home is located near Shoemaker High School, but there's been no word of a lockdown.

Police have closed Bachelor Button and Autumn Valley Drive as a precaution.
