Killeen Residents Have To Temporarily Pay For Bulk Pickup
Killeen residents will now have to pay extra for bulk pickup.
Last night fire at the Killeen Transfer Station off of State Highway 195 has caused residents a temporary extra fee for bulk pickup.
With the facility currently closed as an investigation is underway, residents can place bulk items such as building materials, limited appliances, and furniture curbside for a pickup but a fee. The city charges a $21 collection fee for up to three cubic yards and an extra $7.50 for every additional cubic yard.
Curbside pickup does not include animals, tires, hazardous waste, liquid waste, rocks, and dirt.
There haven't been any details regarding how long this will last available, but according to KWTX, "The facility will remain closed until it is deemed safe for public use."
