Lil Wayne has finally dropped Tha Carter V after years of drama, delays and more drama. Judging from the early Twitter reactions, people are pretty ecstatic about it.

Fans quickly took to social media to celebrate and dissect Wayne's 12th studio album, a lengthy 23-track offering which boasts high profile features from XXXTentacionNicki Minaj, Travis Scott, Nivea, and Snoop DoggSwizz Beatz, Metro Boomin, Mannie Fresh, Zaytoven and DJ Mustard, among others, show up for production duties.

The album is personal in scope – Wayne's daughter Reginae shows up on the track "Famous," and his mom opens the song. She recalls telling her son and Reginae's mother, Toya Wright, that they were too young to have a baby -  but that she's now proud of the father he has become.

The most buzzed about feature so far comes via the track "Mona Lisa" with longtime fan, Kendrick Lamar. Together, the pair go off - switching cadences, voices and styles over the five-minute plus track, proving once again they are arguably two of the best rappers alive.

The album signals the beginning of a new era for Wayne, who settled his years-long financial dispute with Birdman's Cash Money Records back in May. Tha Carter V comes via Young Money/Republic/Universal, and follows the impressive Dedication 6 mixtape from earlier this year.

The response to the long-delayed project has been pretty intense, as fans lit up Twitter with their early thoughts on the album.
