Meek Mill Wishes He Could Celebrate With Philadelphia Eagles

Meek Mill previously said he was "confident" that the Philadelphia Eagles would take home the Super Bowl LII victory, and he's happy that he was right. On Monday (Feb. 5), the Philly native released a statement from prison regarding his NFL home team's major win, explaining how he wishes he could celebrate with the team.

NBC sports reporter John Clark spoke with Meek, who is currently incarcerated for violating his probation. The rapper shared his positive sentiments about the Eagles win after the game.

“Last night, I felt especially proud to be from the great city of Philadelphia," he gushed. "All the heart that the Eagles showed in winning the Super Bowl has given the best fans in the world real hope and inspiration and I’m truly humbled."

The Wins & Losses rapper also said that he wishes he was not behind bars at the moment so he could celebrate with the team and fans at the parade in Philadelphia this week. He does, however, end the statement with some words of faith.

"I wish my current situation was different, and that I could be with my brothers on that team, and the other Eagles fans, in celebrating this once-in-a-lifetime experience," he stated. "But I have faith that truth and justice will win out in the end.”

Meek Mill's music has been a consistent soundtrack for the Philadelphia Eagles. The team first got hype to his "Dreams and Nightmares (Intro)" after their victorious playoffs game before the Super Bowl. During the big game on Feb. 4, the song was their entrance music for the team's introduction, and was later played in the locker room after the major win.

Regardless of his current circumstances, we're sure Philly will be holding him down during the upcoming parade on Feb. 8.
