KWTX's Drake Lawson reports that a gas station in the Central Texas town of Mexia caught on fire over the weekend.

City Manager Eric Garretty said the Valero gas station on 1000 E. Milam Street reported a fire around 7:30 PM.

Garretty said two employees were able to escape safe and sound.

The fire reportedly broke out in the attic of the structure and spread from there. The fire wasn't considered extinguished until early Sunday morning.

Thankfully, no injuries were reported. The cause of the fire remained under investigation Monday.

In other news, a Moody family was displaced by a fire that engulfed their home early Monday morning. Firefighters from several area departments had to rip a metal roof off the home on Stampede Road to combat the flames. Thankfully, no injuries were reported in that fire.
