The Midway Independent School District is making big changes for the 2020-2021 school year.

As reported by KWTX, the district plans to help parents navigate through the increase of traffic and construction delays by adjusting the schools start times.

Next school year, doors at all elementary and intermediate schools will open at 7 a.m.

The start of the school day at elementary and intermediate schools will now be at 7:40 a.m.

Elementary students will be released at 3 p.m. Intermediate students will be released at 3:05 p.m.

Doors at all middle and high schools will open at 7:30 a.m.

Classes for middle school students will begin at 8:25 a.m.

Classes for high school students will begin at 8:30 a.m.

Middle and high school students will be released at 4 p.m.

The change will go into affect Aug 2020.

The goal is to make a safer commute for all parents and students.
