Missing Texas Baby Found Dead In Submerged Vehicle, Father Arrested
I HATE THESE STORIES. This just breaks my heart.
A Texas father is behind bars today after authorities found his 3-month-old daughter dead inside a submerged vehicle.
30-year-old Jeremy Nathaniel Brown was accused of abducting Lyrik Aliyana Brown in Gainesville, Texas. According to a department Facebook post, Gainesville police responded to the Red River around 4 p.m. on Tuesday (June 9) and found Brown beside the overturned and partially submerged car.
Police say Lyrik was found dead in her car seat.
An Amber Alert was issued for baby Lyrik just hours before after the child's mother said that she and Brown were riding in a grey 2011 Volkswagen Jetta and got into an argument and that Brown physically assaulted her. The two were able to exit the car where the assault continued. Brown then got back inside the car and left with the child.
After finding him at the Red River, police arrested Brown on a family assault charge according to Cooke County jail records.
Police say that the family has been notified.
Brown remains in custody as the investigation continues.
