It seems like Ne-Yo can’t shake those nagging gay rumors. A satirical website created a fictitious story about Ne-Yo coming out of the closet. The “So Sick” singer went on Twitter to clear up the gossip over his sexuality.

The fake story, which appeared on satire website NewsBuzzDaily.com, quotes Ne-Yo as saying that Caitlyn Jenner’s journey has inspired him to come out as gay. Although the story is completely bogus, many readers believed it to be true.

This prompted Ne-Yo to jump on Twitter and squash the rumors before it gets out of control. “U should all know by now not to believe everything you read,” he tweeted. “Much luv to #CaitlynJenner but I'm not on that team. Not gay folks. So sorry.”

The 35-year-old singer went on to clarify that he wasn't offended by Caitlyn Jenner but wanted to separate fact from fiction as it pertains to his sexuality.

“No disrespect to the gay community or to #CaitlynJenner by the way. Live your life and be proud. I'm just not gay. We're still on this? #sad," he wrote.

Ne-Yo then went on Instagram and posted a meme criticizing America’s obsession with Jenner and the Kardashians, as oppose to important stories that are affecting people's lives in real life.

Hopefully, this will put a stop to the rumors about Ne-Yo being gay. It's unfortunate that people are so caught up in gossip and innuendo.
