New Phone Scam Has Hit Waco

New month, new scam!

Waco Police Department is warning residents of a new phone scam that has taken over. According to KWTX, several business owners have received phone calls from scammers claiming to be from Waco Police Department and calling to collect citation payments.

Waco PD want's business owners and resdients to be advised that they would never call to collect payments for citations. All fines for citations are collected by the Waco Municipal Court.

if you are not sure if you owe money you are advised to contact the records division of Waco's Municipal Court.

To be safe do not give out your bank account information over the phone.
