Nicki Minaj and Nas prepared for the 2018 U.S. Open, which kicked off this week in New York, the same way every upstanding American did: stanning Serena Williams. The two rappers star alongside Serena in a punny new Beats by Dre commercial, released yesterday (Aug. 27), soundtracked by Nicki's Queen song "Majesty" featuring Eminem and Labrinth.

The spot features Williams posing on a stoop and a street in Queens, the tournament's home neighborhood. Nas introduces the bit with some prose about the tennis player's ongoing struggle to persuade fans and the media that her athletic career and new motherhood are not opposing forces.

"In fair Queens, a conflict sits," he says, tongue in cheek, "between two sides, our hero split."

The false dichotomy gets visualized by Serena being pulled in opposite directions by groups of dancers wearing black and white, and is resolved with a scene of the 23-time Grand Slam singles champion wearing a crown and leading the united troupes in choreography underneath a bridge.

Minaj, donning a crown of her own, closes the commercial by addressing the camera and delivering her famous line from Kanye West's My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy song "Monster": "Now watch the queen conquer." Williams, who took a brief break from the sport after giving birth to her first daughter last September, is off to a solid start, winning her first round match Monday (Aug. 27) against Magda Linette in straight sets.

Nicki, on the other hand, is still chasing her first No. 1 ranking. Queen fell to No. 3 on this week's Billboard 200 chart, behind Ariana Grande's Sweetener and Travis Scott's Astroworld, after debuting this month at No. 2. She's been a harsh critic of Scott throughout the chart battle.
