Thieves stole some tainted tampons from a Dallas factory and now officials want to find them in hopes of avoiding a possible health risk.

The tainted Kotex Natural Balance Security Tampons were being shipped from Dallas to Oklahoma for disposal when thieves stole them to resell them at a lower price.

But the manufacturing company says anyone who has the product should not use it even if the health risk is low.

Kimberly-Clark Corporation Spokesperson Bob Brand said, "In this case it was anything from elevated levels of bacteria to minute metal shavings to some issue with raw material. But at this point since it's left our chain of control, if you will, we have no way of knowing how the product was shipped or stored once it was stolen."

So far Kotex hasn't received any complaints.
