OPINION: Gun Policy Will Change If…

The NRA Convention is going on right now and the usual suspects from the Conservatives/Republicans like Sarah Palin are all talking about how we all need our guns, it's in our Constitution: the more guns, the better. I, for one, agree with the crazies.

As minorities, we need to understand that if you can't beat them, you need to join 'em. Look what they did a few days ago in Georgia: they passed the Safe Carry Protection Law aka the "Guns Everywhere" Law as of July 1st, 2014.

You can now carry your guns to places like the Library, Airports, Churches, Schools, Classes and--get this--BARS. Yeah, that's what we need... guns and alcohol together at the same time. What could go wrong there?

Even as misguided as this law is, what it tells me is that we need to arm ourselves to the max, too.  So lock and load, beeper-beepers! As soon as minorities start stockpiling guns and more guns, the Conservatives/Republicans and the NRA will start making new laws to curtail, reduce, restrict and keep the guns out of our hands. Then it'll be, "Hey, when we said we need to get more guns everywhere we weren't talking to you."

Really, that's the only way to make a change in the NRA members' minds and hearts. Just like voter laws have been manipulated to keep or restrict us from voting, gun laws will also be passed to stop the guns from falling into the hands of people like us. Trust me, it will work.
