Louisiana-based chicken finger joint Raising Cane's has locations in Temple and Copperas Cove, and now they've got their eye on Harker Heights.

The Harker Heights Chamber of Commerce announced Wednesday night that the chicken chain is looking to build on FM 2410/Knights Way. They didn't give a specific address, but said the restaurant would be "next to Union State Bank", which is located at 345 Farm to Market 2410 near Carl Levin Park.

I was pretty skeptical about Raising Cane's when they first came to Temple. What kind of chicken strip place doesn't have gravy?! But the Cane's sauce is actually pretty good, and the chicken itself is too. The buttery toast makes a nice side, and they cook the crinkle fries just right. I'm glad I gave them a chance. (I've never been a fan of coleslaw, but they've never told me "no" when I've asked for extra toast instead.)

You can see their menu on the Raising Cane's website.
