Road Closed Ahead! Temple, Texas Drivers to See Road Closures Starting Monday
Temple, Texas road crews will start work at several locations on Monday, January 24.
I've said this before, but it's worth repeating: the worst part of road construction is not knowing that it was happening.
There's nothing more frustrating in the morning than running a little late for work, then getting stuck in traffic that could have been avoided if you knew it was happening.
This is That Warning
Kiara Nowlin with the City of Temple reports that starting Monday, January 24th, a section of Wendland Road, south of the intersection at Moores Mill Roads will be closed for about two months. This is part of the multi-phase project that will ultimately connect I-35 in north and south Temple.
Not 1 But 2 Road Closures
If your commute takes you through the Fourth Street and Avenue A intersection, you'll need a three-day detour as crews will shut down that stretch for utility relocation.
For those not "in the know," Downtown Temple is going through a remodel with the addition of a parking garage, several new eateries and new living spaces. Nowlin reports that the intersection closure starting on Monday is related to the work being done on the parking garage going up on Fourth Street.
City of Temple
It was reported that the City of Temple is investing $60 million to improve the city's downtown area, including several big projects that would see the addition of two parking garages, living spaces, and new restaurants. Click HERE to find out more.
If you've been in Downtown Temple lately, you've seen the work being done on the Hawn Hotel. You can read more about that HERE.
As frustrating as it is to find new routes around town, these road closures are all part of the bigger plan here in Temple - a plan that will make traveling in and through the city a much better experience.
